  • 'What a beautiful stay! Absolutely perfect and peaceful. The hosts were very thoughtful with little personal touches such as notes and goodie baskets. Super cute spa to enjoy, the bed is one of the comfiest we have stayed on, really clean with every amenity available and more! Finally just a gorgeous environment to be in - you’re surrounded by wonderful views and beautiful bird songs the whole way through!'

  • The Kite is magnificent. Such a beautiful house in the BEST location (right at the heart of Able Tasman National Park). Spotless, lovely and outstanding hospitality. Check in was simple and easy and I can't recommend this enough. Well worth your money, the bath is beautiful as is the entire place!!!

    Jess Old - Jun, 2020

  • The Kite is a very stylish place to stay. The owners have done a great job on it. It is very peaceful and we very much enjoyed our stay. We will most likely look to come again another day. The Kite is a beautifully styled property in one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand. "Hi Brittany and Tim, we thoroughly enjoyed staying at The Kite. You have done an amazing job of styling it both inside and out, and the private, remote location was beautiful."

    John Bridgman - May, 2020

  • Very private, very quiet. Great place to de-stress! Everything was great thanks!

    Ashley Prail - Mar, 2020

  • OH. MY. GOODNESS. What a beautiful place. The house itself is lovely and thoughtful, the bathtub is the greatest thing ever invented, we cooked every night in a comfortable kitchen, and best of all, we listened to nothing but nature the whole time. Birdsongs, cicadas, the breeze that runs between the two spacious doorways in the house...the abundant window space to look at the view from every room...a little slice of paradise. The landscaping is lovely, and you see some little mountains peeking out over the hammock. There is an unpaved but relatively well maintained road leading to the house from Marahau, but for the most part you are really secluded and feel as if you’re right in the park. If you love nature and want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. For us, it was pure magic.

  • The Kite was hands down the best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in! It was an absolute delight and such a great location for a few days in Abel Tasman. It was super clean and peaceful. Brittany and Tim were wonderful hosts- I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway! Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful home! It was so beautiful and we very much enjoyed our time!!!

  • A complete gem of a place, the Kite is located on the pastoral wonderland of a little farm, tucked away in a valley bordering Abel Tasman park. It is beautifully and thoughtfully constructed, very private, and simply gorgeous. It also makes the perfect base from which to explore Abel Tasman. My husband and I ended our two-week NZ honeymoon here and couldn't have asked for a more lovely spot - we only wished we could have stayed longer. What a completely gorgeous place! We loved the Kite - it was the perfect finale for our honeymoon adventure across the South Island. The only disappointment was that we had to leave after three days :) Thanks for all the thoughtful touches and excellent hospitality!

    Elly Page - Feb, 2020

  • The Kite is really nicely designed and decorated, and super private which we loved. The location is also great and very close to the start of the Abel Tasman track. The host leaves a list of suggestions around the area that are very helpful as well. I would definitely recommend staying here. Marahau is a cute town with some good food as well.

    Mira Scarvalone - Feb, 2020

  • The Kite is a beautifully styled self contained unit, perfect for exploring Abel Tasman. Holiday Nelson (the management team) provided clear, thorough details for check in and the local recommendations provided were incredibly helpful. The welcome treats were also lovely. Would highly recommend for a slice of luxury in Abel Tasman! Many thanks for a lovely stay!

    Shasicca Nava - Feb, 2020

  • An incredible home, the pictures really do not do it justice. Had a great time relaxing there and is close to kayaking and walking in Abel Tasman. Will be sure to return. Thank you for the stay. It’s an incredible design and a great place to spend NYE relaxing. We will be sure to return in the future.

  • Awesome spot to stay. The kite is a very stylish yet simple place with fantastic landscape and property around it. We really enjoyed our stay! Thanks for the stay guys! Loved the kite and the surrounding areas. You’ve done a great job on the place, looks great. Phil and Sara.

Sara and Phil Robertson - Jan, 2020

  • The most amazing place just outside Abel Tasman National Park. Perfect location and spotlessly clean! We loved everything about this place inside and out. Stylish yet functional indoor space and a true oasis outdoors. Best parts were the outdoor bath tub and the swing. The place is situated on the hosts’ huge property and you are able to explore everything from the horses to the bamboo forest. The hosts also shared many local tips that went beyond the standard Lonely Planet itinerary. Thank you again for your hospitality! This has been one of our favorite places to stay at in NZ. The indoor and outdoor places are amazing and we loved waking up to the sound of the forest. Only recommendation we have is to place outdoor cushions in a box to protect them from the weather and birds.

Arne and Anna Junker - Jan, 2020

  • Seriously one of the most beautiful experiences we’ve had! The maple trees were just in full bloom, the garden was such a delight, especially sitting in that bath and relaxing to the sound of the creek. Thank you

    Alice O'Neill - Dec, 2019

  • Beautiful house and garden in an amazing location, right on the doorstep of Abel Tasman park. Very luxurious and well kitted out house, we enjoyed the bbq, fire pit, outside bathtub and v comfy outdoor beanbags! There are so many birds that came to the garden which we really enjoyed, especially an inquisitive weka. We drove quickly to get to Split Apple rock, did a kayak tour and mountain biked in Kaiteriteri. Brittany and Tim's tips for Abel Tasman, Nelson and Golden Bay were all great, and helped us plan out our whole trip to NZ.

    Duncan Griffiths - Dec, 2019

  • Beautiful little home. Great for a getaway.
