Surrounded by bird song, spectacular & constantly changing estuary views, established orchards & veggie gardens, & even a beautiful pocket of ancient coastal native bush, Kikorangi Retreat is the perfect getaway for a unique, relaxed & peaceful New Zealand experience.
You will immediately feel warmly welcomed in this sunny beach house nestled amongst the vibrant nature of Delaware Bay.
Resident custodians living in a neighbouring cottage will make your stay even more special by sharing their local products (eggs, honey, fresh fruits & vegetables) as well as their knowledge of the area, local walks & activities & the eco-friendly environment.

Upstairs - 1 (Master): Queen bed.
Study (open mezzanine area above living): Single bed or can be configured as 2 Single beds or a King bed by request.
Downstairs - Bedroom 2: King bed or split into Single + Single beds by request.
Sunroom: Single bed (can be made up by request).
2 bathrooms
Upstairs - 1 (Master ensuite): Shower, Separate corner Bath, Toilet & Vanity.
Downstairs - 2: Walk-in Shower, Toilet & Basin.
Inclusions
Kikorangi Retreat will be presented with beds made, ready for your stay.
All utilities, linens & towels, use of all listed property amenities, including Spa Pool, pantry & sanitary basics, departure linen service & standard housekeeping up to 3 hours will be included in your booking.
Extra charges will apply where additional cleaning, BBQ or oven cleaning or excessive rubbish disposal is required.

Special house in a special location, yet close to Nelson. Lovely spa to enjoy in the evening to watch the sunset glow. We enjoyed walking around the property and the objects in the house which are so special. We enjoyed the walks in the neighbourhood and the walk up the hill at Cable Bay. Our stay at Kikorangi Retreat was exactly that. A beautiful, restful, restorative retreat. The house and the bountiful grounds were lovely and peaceful and comfortable. And Carolyn was so gracious and welcoming, we felt we had come home. The two large bedrooms, plus sunroom and loft office, can accommodate most size groups. The kitchen is well appointed. The hot tub overlooking the bay was wonderful. A big unexpected plus was an excellent music system and a wide ranging music library. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful home. We felt like we were a million miles away, so quiet and peaceful. The view of the water and greenery is spectacular, even when it rained, we were happy to relax and just enjoy the scenery. Although we did go to a cafe close by we spent all our time relaxing and enjoying the property, it has such a great energy. . Carolyn is a lovely host, we wished we'd spent more time with her. We're so looking forward to planning another trip. If you're considering a stay here, do it, the moment you walk through the door you'll understand why this home has so many great reviews.

Incredible house in an idyllic setting. With the most incredible views in every direction, this home is the perfect holiday retreat. We loved strolling down the hill for a swim at high tide and driving the short 10 min to the beach at cable bay. The house itself is well equiped and very clean. We only achieved about half of what we wanted to while in the area as we simply never wanted to leave the house. Highly recommended.Holiday Nelson -
A truly beautiful home in a stunning location - what amazing views! We didn’t have great weather during our stay, which meant we couldn’t fully embrace the ground and the surrounds - but the house had absolutely everything we could have needed and was a great part of the world to be stuck inside!

Hi Sara, We would like to thank Carolyn, yourself and Kate and Pete for making us feel part of the Kikorangi Family, it was very hard to leave after our 5 week stay. The House had everything we needed and more, the views throughout the day were outstanding, the house design and layout worked so well with ever changing views from most of the rooms. The best part for us was lying in bed and watching the stars and moon change through that lovely skylight and being woken up by the spectacular sunrises that Delaware Bay put on for us. Carolyn was a fantastic host, always asking if we needed anything and welcoming us into her home without being intrusive on our privacy. The caretakers Kate and Pete have a real affinity with land and the talks we had around the garden and chicken coups really emphasised their passion for the area and work to regenerate the bush and gardens. Whenever we stay at a holiday home we always ask ourselves if we could live here or what we would change in the house, in this case the answer was a firm yes to living in Delaware Bay, in fact we asked to join the big que of people wanting to buy the house.... we wouldn't change much if anything in the house, perfect layout for our small family and just far enough out of town to have that feeling of total seclusion but the convenience to pop into town if we need more wine to enjoy the views. An easy and relaxing break with linen and cleaning taken care of, and a fully equipped home. We loved the spa, board games, collections of interesting books, and exploring the estuary and local area. Just outstanding. From the views, home, garden and hospitality. We felt absolutely welcomed from the get go. This was a stunning spot super eco friendly with veggie gardens and fruit trees to enjoy. Fresh eggs from the chickens were an absolutely treat in the morning. This was the best place for our little wedding. Highly recommended to all. Honestly thank you all so much for everything it was an incredible and amazing stay. Keep doing what you are doing and hopefully we will come back in the future.

This is a perfectly situated home, far enough off the beaten track to feel secluded and special but close an easy 20 mins to Nelson by car and only a few kms from coffee,great food and the beach. The house is incredibly well-equipped and comfortable, flooded with vistas and light and hosted so warmly by Carolyn. Loved every minute and would love to return. Highly recommended. A wonderful property in a stunning location. Both the outside and inside spaces are fabulous. Our kids loved splashing around in the hot tub - a real plus to the trip given the cold weather! Very comfortable beds and linens, lovely master bathroom, and a very well equipped kitchen. Highly recommended!

Kia ora Well, we thought Kikorangi Retreat was, in a word, paradise. In reality it actually surpassed our expectations compared to the photos - which in itself is amazing! In fact we were rather overwhelmed when we stepped through the door. The house inside was beautiful with the most wonderful spacious high-ceilinged living areas and a superb surround sound system with a truly vast array of CDs to select from. The whole family found no need for TV all! The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we could have wanted. And then there was the magnificent garden - the garden and the spectacular views took our breath away. We were allowed to help ourselves to the big grapefruit and orange trees, veggies, herbs etc. The outdoor decking area was expansive, and it was awesome to have the outdoor table to eat at and basically spend hours sitting there devouring the view (with no other houses in sight)! We were later than expected in arriving, so didn't get to meet Carolyn at that point. It was very thoughtful and kind of her to leave us welcoming gifts of a bottle of wine, chocolates, a bowl of eggs from her chickens, and a lovely greeting and Christmas card. Great host. One tiny thing we would offer as improvement would be: It might be good to have a full queen/double bed in one of the two bedrooms - perhaps in the upstairs master bedroom rather than the 'make-up'/extendable bed which was in there, because we found there was a bit of a ridge in the middle of the bed. Please note that this is not a criticism, as the bed was still nice, and big - just something that may help in the future
