The area is lovely & quiet, but remains within walking distance of the city's restaurants & cafes & within easy access of Nelson's great walking & biking trails! It's a magnificent base from which to explore the city surrounds & with spa pool & infrared sauna it's the perfect place to return to after a busy day of exploring & adventuring!.

At Holiday Nelson we take a thorough approach toward cleanliness and hygiene practices for your and our families peace of mind... because nothing less will do.
All high contact, food preparation and hard wet surfaces are hygienically cleaned and sanitised and our linens are professionally laundered at 80ºC, with bed linens further ironed at 120ºC by one of New Zealand's leading laundry experts, leaving them crisp, clean & superbly comfortable!

Spa pool - Children must be supervised in the spa at all times. The spa pool cannot be used aftert 10pm & the lid must be relocked between each use.
Car parking - The garage is not available for guest use. There is space on the driveway for 2 vehicles. There is no off-street parking within proximity of the home.

Check-in is possible anytime after 2pm or from noon where the option of early check-in has been purchased.
Early check-in (12pm/noon and in some cases earlier) can usually be offered for an additional charge. Please request this at the time of booking or at least 24 hours prior to your arrival.

Sat up on the hillside, this house was ideal for our recent stay in Nelson, allowed us to feel at home whilst visiting relatives. The walk into Nelson is easy, climbing back up not so mind you, but we made it! Our son thoroughly enjoyed the lower room with access to the hot tub, his daily morning routine was a soak before breakfast!

Superbly-designed multi-level upmarket home on a commanding hillside location ... (a) Layout: from front door 6 stairs down to bottom bedroom, 10 stairs up to Lounge & Kitchen on level 2, another 6 stairs to level 3 with 2 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms .. stairs all carpeted with rail .. (b) Positives of house are numerous & major: fantastic views of surrounding hills, city centre & suburbs down below & of Tasman Bay extending out towards Kaiteriteri & the Takaka Hills ... serene & surrounded by native bush / birds ... a very modern & tasteful interior with plush new carpet and immaculately presented bedrooms & lounge ... extremely comfy beds/lounge ... very effective heatpump (warms room unusally quickly) ... attractive kitchen with full amenities ... 2 bathrooms (1 with bath) & outdoor spa pool ... TVs in both the lounge & in downstairs bedroom (incl Netflix)

Holiday Bliss Such a beautiful spot! We had a wonderful holiday in Nelson and this home totally made it for us! Beautiful views. The surrounding trees and bush provided stunning bird life and song all while being 5 min from town. The spa was a massive bonus and gave us precious family time to relax together which we don’t usually get to do! We would happily stay here again! Holiday Nelson are great to book with. Beautiful Views Spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy. The kitchen was well equipped. The espresso machine is a nice touch! It is very close to town, although it is a steep hill, which we didn't mind. There is also a small trail off the shared driveway that connects into a larger local trail network. Great place for our family holiday.

Views, privacy, close to town We have stayed in this property before and chose it again because it offers excellent sea and bush views and a sense of seclusion. It is close to Nelson and some excellent coffee shops and also close to the walk up to the 'Centre of NZ'. It is a comfortable house with a well-equipped kitchen. There were a few little glitches to do with door hinges and light bulbs but these were rectified by the property managers.

We had a great stay. Loved the views, rooms and spa. Only issue was navigating to the property as the address in Google Maps took us to the wrong street. Better instructions and more signage would have helped. Otherwise, we couldn't fault the place. Thank you so much for a great stay!

We are two couples who had a lovely stay at Hilltop Getaway over the weekend. I booked through Book a Bach but would use Holiday Nelson next time as I didn't like their system of giving you a price and then add additional costs through final booking. The house was clean and had great amenities but could you mention that we only found one coathanger for the two bedrooms.

Beautiful house up in the trees with an amazing view! What you need to know: very clean, good location and parking on premises. What you want to know: kitchen was completely outfitted so we could cook, comfortable beds and clean linens, responsive host, and great base from which to explore. I’d move in!

Road access is narrow, help's to have a navigation guide (on phone or car). House was warm, amenities were very good, bed was comfy but verandah door limited view by its internal double glaze. Convenient transit to hospital, city center, & mway junction's. You're able to touch the main attraction with your eyes if you lack strong physical stamina.

This hilltop oasis provided a massive window on Nelson. The kitchen is well fitted out and the outdoor living space/bbq was bonus. A great place to hang out, relax and enjoy a private home with a great sound system! The neighbourhood is beautiful and walking to the Suter Cafe in Queens Park each morning was an absolute delight!

Easy stay for a family Our family enjoyed our stay and found that the home had all the things we needed plus some nice touches like the spa. The hosts were really responsive when something wasn't right and resolved it quickly. The driveway isn't easy to navigate with a larger car but we managed ok.

Beautiful property with everything you need for a weekend away or short stay. Awesome views and great to hear the birds singing in the morning. We enjoyed our second stay at hilltop getaway from18 to 24 March 2021. The location is very good within easy reach of Nelson city, the Matai river and its many walks and not too far to Mapua and Kaiteriteri and many other locations The house sits above Nelson in a quiet location with sea views and views over the city. The house is very well equipped with everything you could want in the kitchen. We had a smaller car this time and had no problem with turning to get out again. The only criticism we had was that the curtains in the second bedroom were thin and were not blackout which we wanted because of my my wife's sleep problems. Luckily we took some blackout with us but it would be a big improvement if you lined the curtains in that bedroom with blackout material or got curtains like those in the master bedroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hilltop Getaway. We got used to the very steep drive quickly and turning around in the tight parking too. The house was clean, bright airy and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable; firm with good pillows, which was a HUGE plus for us. We did get hot under the synthetic duvets, but the fan kept us cool. During our stay, I emailed the team to let them know there were a significant amount of nails sticking up on the decking. Two handy men were sent that day to ratify the situation which was most appreciated. It was a leisurely 15 minute downhill stroll to town (and we caught taxis back after dinner and drinks). The kids enjoyed Netflix and the hot tub too. We loved hearing the birds and appreciated the quiet. We would book again for sure.

A beautiful perch over the city of Nelson, lovely kitchen, bed very comfortable, great TV room downstairs, spa (for spa users, not us so can't testify), wee sauna in the garage. Well equipped. Approach this house from Cleveland Terrace for easier access, also go down drive marked 15 and the marker for 17 appears, hard to spot from the fork in the road. Also, smaller cars perhaps better suited, unless you're a skilled driver, turning area is limited. That said, we loved our stay here.

HelloWe had a wonderful stay at Hilltop Getaway. The house has lovely views across the city to the sea, is very well set up and very comfortable. The house had been prepared to a high standard of cleanliness and we immediately felt at home. A big plus for us was being able to self cater in an excellent kitchen. We had no problems with the narrow road up to the house and really appreciated the tranquil environment. There was even a visiting tui on a few occasions. Lovely property in quiet location with great views The property is very well appointed with fantastic views over Nelson. The rooms were all well proportioned with great facilities throughout. It is in a lovely quiet location, maybe a 15 minute walk in to Nelson centre. The property managers were excellent. Very prompt with responses to questions, and accommodating given some uncertainty around our booking and Covid lockdown. I can't stress enough how helpful they all were. Certainly a place we would stay at again.

Relaxing, convenient to central city, awesome views Both adults and teens enjoyed their stay here. A lovely spacious place for living in plus plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the stunning views over Nelson too. The kitchen was well equipped and bedrooms comfortable. Nervous drivers might find access a little daunting as cars can't pass in opposite directions for most of the final part of the roadway but not a lot of traffic happens and it is an easy walk to the central city so the car is not essential all the time.

The house in Dorothy Annie Way was exactly what we needed for my wife’s sleeping problems. The house was extremely well stocked and presented, it was totally clear of any road noise and was comfortable. The only thing we noticed that was a bit of a nuisance was the entering and turning a large vehicle in the drive, The next door bed and breakfast had clients that parked on the drive that led to our house instead of inside their own property although I admit as close to their boundary as possible.
