Commodore is a peaceful & private sanctuary blessed with views & excellent sun. The incredible position overlooks the deep blue waters of Tasman Bay, the many waterways & islands of the Waimea Inlet & the spectacular mountains of the Kahurangi & Abel Tasman National Parks!

Commodore is a fantastic holiday home for couples right through to families or groups of up to 7 guests. This home is less than 10min drive from Nelson City Centre & less than 5min to Tahunanui Beach.

All utilities, linens & towels, use of all listed property amenities, departure linen service & standard housekeeping up to 3.5 hours will be included in your booking.
Extra charges will apply where additional cleaning, BBQ or oven cleaning or excessive rubbish disposal is required.

At Holiday Nelson we take a thorough approach toward cleanliness and hygiene practices for your and our families peace of mind... because nothing less will do.
All high contact, food preparation and hard wet surfaces are hygienically cleaned and sanitised and our linens are professionally laundered at 80ºC, with bed linens further ironed at 120ºC by one of New Zealand's leading laundry experts, leaving them crisp, clean & superbly comfortable!

Separate Apartment - Below Commodore is a separately tenanted or bookable apartment. Access, parking & facilities are separate, but due to the proximity of the properties, we ask that guests are mindful of noise at night & early morning.
Check-in & Check-out
Check-in is possible anytime after 2pm or from noon where the option of early check-in has been purchased.
Early check-in (12pm/noon and in some cases earlier) can usually be offered for an additional charge. Please request this at the time of booking or at least 24 hours prior to your arrival.
Check-out is to be completed by 10am on your day of departure unless ‘Late check-out’ has been purchased.

29 Commodore Place in the Tasman Heights area of Britannia Heights. This beautiful part of Nelson is blessed with incredible panoramic views & all day sun. The homes are modern & typically architectural. The neighbourhood is quiet, private & is regarded as a fantastic place to live. It's less than a 10min drive to the city centre & less than a 5min drive to Nelson's main swimming beach.

we had a great time thanks. The house worked well for our family of five and we enjoyed the location, views and walking tracks. I rarely watch TV so it was nice being able to access Netflix and relax a little after doing outdoor activities. Lovely house in a very good suburb of Nelson. Well decorated with neutrals and relaxing furniture (think Nood). We loved the views and the deck especially the lounger. Super and we would like it again please.

Hi Holiday Nelson team We had a wonderful stay at the Commodore. The house itself is fabulous - with the most amazing views across Tasman Bay from the living areas and the master bedroom. The home decor is lovely - very modern and comfortable. The home was clean and fresh on arrival and well appointed with supplies such as bathroom toiletries and kitchen basics. Hi guys We all thought the Commodore was awesome. The room layouts, beds and bedding were great. The only negatives would be the fact that one of the beds wasn't made and that some supplies were missing. Jarrod got on the case swiftly though which was great although the cleaning utensils that the cleaner provided us with were pretty feeble, 2 j-cloths! It would also have been good to have a few more of the basics. Since the commodore is such a high standard you'd expect oil, maybe some condiments (local sauces?), and a decent set of salt and pepper Mills instead of what's provided. Great TV system. Only recommendation would be a chrome cast as guests could then link their phones and ipads to the TV to watch their own movies. We were very happy though and will definitely return. We enjoyed our visit to Nelson very much, very good weather helped. We were very pleased with our chosen holiday home Commodore. It was very clean and comfortable with lovely views and suited us perfectly. The only thing we would report was a wasps nest in the barbecue area. It would be a shame if someone was stung. We would not hesitate in recommending Commodore and Holiday Nelson for their service to anyone holiday in the area. Holiday Nelson replied: There seem to be a lot of asian paper wasp nests this Summer. They are small and quickly established, but easily removed once spotted with fly spray. There are up to 5~6 wasps per nest and they don't seem to be as aggressive as the European or German wasps. We're very glad no one was stung! There was an article in the Nelson Mail paper just the other day about the scarcity of Monarch butterflies this year. They are putting it down to the increase in paper wasps! We are keen to be rid of them and we are now checking for and removing these whenever discovered or reported to us. Thanks again for staying, the feedback and for letting us know about the wasps :-)

Hi Jarrod and Petra-Jane, Thank you for allowing us to stay in this property, it far exceeded our expectations - the location was fantastic (especially looking out over a valley of trees), everything in the house was modern and high quality. The only downside was that this was a shared property, and this was not stated on the Holiday Houses website - we didn't find out until we had already booked and paid, and most likely wouldn't have chosen this property if we had known. To be fair, the tenants downstairs were very quiet, and only once did noise become intrusive. Again, thank you for making this an enjoyable holiday, and I wouldn't hesitate to use your service again. We have double checked details of the separate apartment is correctly listed on all listings & we're glad that in spite of your not knowing before booking, that this was not a problem & that you enjoyed your stay.

My husband & I, with our 3 children aged 2 to 9, decided to make a decent holiday out of our visit for a family wedding. We chose Commodore as our Holiday home accommodation and we could not have picked a better place for enjoying the Nelson sunshine & fabulous views! The home was very comfortable, spacious and well equipped for our needs. We found the property handy to the city centre, wedding venue on the waterfront and the fantastic Tahunanui beach and playgrounds behind. All in all a great experience and one we look forward to repeating in future!

Staying for 3 weeks we were looking for a home away from home and we certainly got this at the Commodore. Modern, Clean, warm with fantastic views, the sunsets were a special treat, looking for what it was going to be like each night. I thought the property was well designed, with lots of winter sun. We liked the area too, a short drive from town and a nice neighbourhood to walk around. The managers responded quickly to my questions and were very helpful. We will be back!
