Lush bird song serenades you as you arise in this sylvan retreat in the heart of the city. Staying at Centre of NZ Apartment 2 puts you right across the street from the historic Botanical Reserve and the Centre of New Zealand.
This relaxed, private and completely renovated apartment/townhouse within an charming Mediterranean style character home is perfectly situated: Ridgeline tramping tracks on the adjoining hills flow to the nearby sea and down into nearby bush valleys with riverside swimming holes — the trail head to these is only a one minute walk from the property. If you turn the other direction and walk two blocks you are now walking along the beautifully landscaped Maitai River — the Riverside pool beckons a wee bit farther down the footpath. Bring your bikes and it is a short and easy ride along the river to the harbour and beyond that to Nelson’s best beach — Tahunanui.
Once you arrive at Centre of NZ Apartment 2 there is no need for a car. Open your door and walk toward the sea and you are now a couple minutes walk from the Queens Gardens Reserve, the Chinese gardens, the Suter Art Gallery and the gourmet-style food of the Suter Gallery Cafe. Walk two minutes more and you are in the City Centre, with the temptations of the Saturday and Wednesday Farmer’s Markets, or a pizza at Stefano’s and a movie at the State Cinema close to hand. Walk to the nearby Sprig and Fern or Freehouse and hoist a couple of pints, enjoy some fish and chips or Indian food and don’t worry about calling a taxi as you are only a five minute walk back to your accommodation. Treat yourself to a gourmand’s feast and walk the 5 minutes to the sweet, intimate dining at “Mint.” There is an great selection of wines with a wine-tasting bar, and freshly-caught Nelson fish at Fresh Choice supermarket, also a 5 minute walk.
Please note this apartment may be booked independently or in conjunction with Apartment 1 (listed separately) to give 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms sleeping 10-12 guests (2~4 guests in Apartment 2 and 6~8 guests in Apartment 1). Just let us know in your enquiry if you would like to book both apartments.
