Introduction
Nelson and its surrounding areas are famous for natural beauty and excellent weather! Within minutes of Haulashore Views and listed here in no particular order are some excellent places to swim, fish, sail (yacht club), surf (bad weather dependent), windsurf, kitesurf, drink & dine (waterfront restaurants and cafe-bars), go for day walks, play golf, lay on the beach, shop, visit cultural attractions and mountainbike (amazing biking here).
We definitely amongst those that agree Nelson is the lifestyle capital of New Zealand!

Auckland airport is about 30min. from downtown Auckland and Nelson Airport is only 10min from Haulashore Views and the City Centre. Alternatively, take the scenic drive from Picnic to Havelock, which will give you beautiful views of Queen Charlotte Sound, then join SH6 at Havelock. If you are in a hurry or simply want to spend as much time as possible relaxing in Nelson then you could fly from Wellington Airport to Nelson with either Air New Zealand or Sounds Air.

Getting around Nelson
Now, like most other New Zealand cities people tend to favour their own cars over public transport. The outcome of course is that we have a less than perfect public transportation service. In saying this however, the bus service is pretty good and does come very close to Haulashore Views on its way to and from the city centre. You are also welcome to use the bikes at the house or you could enjoy the pleasant walk to the City or beach (about 20min).

When we are in town we usually hire a car from Nelson Auto Rentals. These guys offer extremely competitive rates and are happy to pick up and drop off at the airport or inter city bus terminal.
